Albania is undergoing one of its most significant institutional transformations, with over 95% of public services now fully digitized and accessible through the e-Albania platform. The platform, which serves 3.3 million users both at home and abroad, has processed 49 million services since 2020, saving citizens and businesses an estimated €620 million and eliminating the need for over one billion kilometers of travel.
Albania is the first country to use artificial intelligence in negotiations with the European Union, accelerating the transfer of the EU Acquis Communautaire — over 250,000 pages — with 99% accuracy. Artificial intelligence is also being integrated into other state functions, including public procurement, tax and customs monitoring, and territorial control through drones and satellite systems.
Additionally, Albania is developing a new electronic ID card aligned with EU digital standards and has strengthened its cybersecurity framework with the creation of the National Agency for Cybersecurity.
