The City of Palermo has launched an advanced Smart City Control Room (CoRo), designed to monitor and manage key urban services in real time. Located at the Municipal Police Headquarters, the CoRo integrates AI, big data, georeferenced platforms, and a network of sensors and cameras to oversee areas such as mobility, safety, waste, and environment.
The system supports emergency response, urban planning, and public service coordination through a federated, interoperable model involving both local and national stakeholders.
It serves as both an operational hub and a strategic decision-support tool for public authorities. [source]
