In 2025, Italy advanced its digital public administration through updated national strategies on interoperability, artificial intelligence, telemedicine, cybersecurity, and open data. AgID reinforced the Three-Year ICT Plan for Public Administration, expanded AI governance through national guidelines, and promoted secure cloud-based modernization across public entities. Major developments also include the launch of the National Telemedicine Platform, the implementation of the Italian Digital Wallet under the eIDAS 2 framework, updates to electronic invoicing, and new legislative initiatives on artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, further aligning Italy with European digital priorities.
