  • Artificial intelligence in the public sector: the INPS model, with 59 systems already in use

The INPS has identified 59 artificial intelligence systems already integrated into its processes, classifying them in accordance with the AgID Guidelines for the use of AI in the public administration. This, reported in the Institute’s 25th Annual Report, highlights how artificial intelligence has become a strategic technological tool for improving operational efficiency, managing large volumes of requests and making services more accessible to citizens. The systems adopted range from automated text analysis to content generation, from process orchestration to data-driven decision-making, with applications that have already yielded significant results in document management, user support and administrative simplification. The INPS’s experience represents a concrete example of the digital transformation of the public administration, in which the adoption of AI aims to combine technological innovation, service quality and a people-centred approach.
